Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday visited Araria as part of his Samriddhi Yatra, where he addressed a public gathering and highlighted the state’s development since 2005. During his speech, Kumar also drew attention by stopping people who were leaving the venue, urging them to stay and listen to the entire address.

The Chief Minister criticised the period when Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi were in power, claiming law and order, healthcare and infrastructure were in poor condition before his government took charge in 2005.

Kumar said his administration introduced initiatives such as bicycle schemes for girls, large-scale teacher recruitment, and improved healthcare services. He noted that Bihar now has over 5.24 lakh government teachers and 12 medical colleges, compared to six earlier.

He also highlighted road development projects, saying improved connectivity has reduced travel time across the state.
