Pashupati Paras Hands RLP Leadership Role to Prince Raj Paswan

Former Union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras has announced a major leadership change in the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLP) in an attempt to revive the party’s political relevance. During the party’s national executive meeting in Delhi, Paras appointed former Samastipur MP Prince Raj Paswan as the executive national president of the organisation. Prince Raj is the son of late leader Ramchandra Paswan and cousin of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan.

The decision is being viewed as an effort to bring fresh energy and strengthen the party’s position amid internal challenges and shifting political dynamics in Bihar. Paras said the move reflects the need for young leadership to guide the party through current political circumstances.

According to party leaders, Prince Raj will serve in an executive capacity for the next two months, after which organisational elections may formally confirm him as national president. Meanwhile, Paras hinted that he may gradually step back from active politics and assume a guiding role within the party.
