Restaurant Owner Shot Outside Mosque in Darbhanga, Condition Critical

A restaurant owner was seriously injured after being shot by unidentified gunmen outside a mosque in Bihar’s Darbhanga district on Thursday afternoon. The victim, Anwar Kamal, also known as Laddu, owns the Wow Restaurant and Wow Water Park in the city.

According to police, the incident took place in the Senapath locality near Baba Ugna Temple under the Nagar police station area. Kamal had gone to a nearby mosque to offer afternoon prayers. As he stepped out after the prayers, armed assailants who were allegedly waiting outside opened fire at him. One bullet struck him near the abdomen, causing him to collapse on the spot.

Local residents rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors said his condition remains critical due to heavy blood loss.

Sadar SDPO Rajeev Kumar confirmed that police have begun an investigation and suspect a possible personal dispute. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined while police teams have been deployed to trace and arrest the attackers.
