Ranchi Police have put in place an extensive security plan to ensure peaceful Holi celebrations across the district. Around 2,000 additional personnel, including district police, RAF, RAP and Home Guard jawans, have been deployed. Quick Response Teams have been formed in all police station areas, while plainclothes officers are also on duty to monitor sensitive locations.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan has instructed officers to remain vigilant and prevent any form of disorder. Strict action will be taken against those playing obscene songs, creating nuisance under the influence of alcohol or forcibly applying colours. Extra deployment has been ordered near religious places and other sensitive areas.
To curb road accidents, a district-wide drunk-driving campaign has already begun, with fines being imposed and intoxicated drivers detained. Additionally, zig-zag barricading has been installed at 30 key locations in the city to prevent overspeeding and reduce the risk of mishaps during the festivities.
