Two Killed in Alleged Deliberate Vehicle Attack in Patna; Probe Underway

A tragic incident in Patna’s Ranitalab police station area has left two members of a family dead and another seriously injured, with allegations that the crash was deliberate. According to a written complaint filed by Bipin Kumar of Anuppura village, the incident occurred on the evening of February 28, 2026, when his family was returning home after attending a religious event. A pickup vehicle allegedly rammed into them, resulting in the on-the-spot deaths of his wife, Poonam Kumari, and son, Amrit Raj. His nephew sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS Patna.

The complainant has alleged that the act was intentional and further accused the suspects of attempting to remove the bodies from the scene and stealing jewellery from the deceased. Police formally received the complaint on March 2 and have initiated an investigation. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused.
