Bihar Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav on Wednesday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to transforming agriculture into a modern, profitable and dignified profession. Addressing a press conference at the Information Building in Patna, he outlined key achievements under the state’s Agriculture Road Map and detailed ongoing initiatives aimed at boosting productivity and farmers’ incomes.
The minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the government is prioritising small and marginal farmers. He highlighted improved access to quality seeds, fertilisers, irrigation facilities, modern farm machinery and digital services. Emphasis is also being placed on crop diversification, value addition, food processing and agricultural entrepreneurship.
Yadav stressed that Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) systems have been strengthened to ensure transparency and eliminate middlemen. He announced that after the legislative session, departmental officials will visit districts to engage directly with farmers, scientists and agri-entrepreneurs to further strengthen the sector.
