Jharkhand Budget Session From February 18; All-Party Meet Discusses Agenda

The Jharkhand Assembly’s Budget Session will commence on February 18, following an all-party meeting convened by Speaker Rabindranath Mahato to ensure smooth proceedings. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Congress Legislature Party leader Pradeep Yadav and AJSU MLA Nirmal Mahato.

Leaders discussed revising the schedule for February 23 in view of municipal elections and proposed advancing discussions on the supplementary budget to February 21, despite it being a Saturday. A final decision will be taken by the Business Advisory Committee.

The opposition has demanded special discussions on the rising incidents of elephant attacks and concerns surrounding mining activities in the state. On February 20, the third supplementary budget for 2025-26 is set to be presented, along with debate on the Governor’s address. The annual Budget for 2026-27 will be tabled on February 24.
