Pappu Yadav’s Bail Hearing Deferred, Court Appearance Due Friday

Brief By Newsbrief / 8:17 PM on 12 Feb 2026

Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, continues to face mounting legal challenges after his bail plea was not heard for the second consecutive day on Thursday. The civil court deferred the hearing, requiring Yadav to appear again on Friday. He is seeking bail in three separate cases, including two old cases registered at Kotwali police station in 2003 and 2017, and another case at Budha Colony police station related to alleged obstruction of government work.

Although Yadav appeared before the court, no substantive hearing took place. His counsel alleged that delays are intentional and claimed efforts are being made to keep him in judicial custody. Until the legal process in all three cases is completed, Yadav will remain in custody. However, he has already been granted bail in a separate case linked to the Gardanibagh police station.

The outcome of Friday’s hearing is considered crucial, as it will determine Yadav’s immediate legal status and potential relief in the pending matters.
