Police in Begusarai have busted an organised cyber fraud racket that cheated board examinees by falsely claiming access to leaked question papers. Acting on a tip-off, Bakri police arrested Santosh Kumar, a resident of Mauji Than Singh village, for operating Telegram and WhatsApp groups promising exam papers in exchange for money.
Investigators said the gang used a Telegram channel titled “Bihar Board Out Question” and a WhatsApp group named “ACHUK WAN 01” to lure students. During forensic checks of the seized mobile phone, police found objective questions matching a portion of the Intermediate Chemistry exam held on February 7, 2026. The accused allegedly demanded up to ₹40,000 for providing full matric exam papers in PDF format.
Police said the network has links extending to Lakhisarai, with another suspect under scrutiny. Cyber teams are tracing bank accounts, call records, and group administrators. Authorities have urged students and parents not to fall for paper leak claims and to report such attempts immediately.
