On the final day of the Jharkhand urban body elections, a total of 2,588 candidates filed their nominations across 48 municipal corporations. Among them, 275 candidates filed for Mayor/Chairman posts, while 2,313 candidates contested for ward councillor positions. A total of 6,979 nomination papers were submitted, including 3,462 from women, indicating strong female participation in the elections.The next phase of the process involves scrutiny of nomination papers, which will be conducted on Thursday.
