Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar found himself at the centre of political discussion during his Samriddhi Yatra stop in Vaishali after he twice mispronounced the name of the iconic Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum, referring to it as “Vriddh Samyak Darshan” while addressing a public gathering. The lapse drew surprise as the chief minister himself had inaugurated the museum ahead of elections.
The Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum holds national and international significance, attracting large numbers of domestic and foreign tourists every year. Kumar’s error, therefore, did not go unnoticed in political circles. What further raised eyebrows was that none of the ministers, legislators, or senior officials present on the stage intervened to correct the mistake.
The address was delivered at a massive rally organised near the Bateshwar Nath Temple premises in Vaishali’s Mahua-Jandaha region. The event witnessed a large turnout under tight security, with both deputy chief ministers, cabinet colleagues, legislators, and top administrators in attendance.
