Security forces in Jharkhand have stepped up efforts to capture Maoist commander Odan Miyan, launching extensive search operations across Palamu and surrounding forested regions. Acting on fresh intelligence, joint teams of Jharkhand and Bihar police, along with central security forces, are conducting coordinated raids, area domination exercises, and continuous surveillance in suspected Maoist strongholds.
Odan Miyan, a senior commander linked to the CPI (Maoist), is accused of involvement in several major attacks on security personnel and civilians. Authorities have announced a cash reward of ₹15 lakh for information leading to his arrest. Officials say he has played a key role in strengthening Maoist networks in Jharkhand and Bihar since joining the outfit in 2018.
Security agencies have intensified combing operations in remote villages and forest corridors, keeping a close watch on movement routes used by insurgents. Police have also appealed to local residents to share any information, assuring confidentiality. The crackdown aims to weaken Maoist influence and restore long-term peace in the affected regions.
