The mysterious death of a medical aspirant from Jehanabad at a Patna girls’ hostel has triggered sharp political and social reactions, with Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor stepping in and questioning the police investigation. On Thursday, Kishor met the victim’s family in Jehanabad, assuring support and demanding a fresh probe once the post-mortem report is fully examined.

Kishor said the medical report does not clearly rule out sexual assault, making it imperative for the police to re-examine the case objectively. He stressed that any investigative lapse must be corrected transparently, as the matter involves the life and dignity of a young student. “This is not just about procedure, but justice,” he remarked.
