Nearly 2,000 people have been killed during anti-government protests across Iran, an Iranian official told Reuters, blaming terrorists for deaths of civilians and security personnel. Authorities earlier organised pro-government rallies to counter unrest. President Masoud Pezeshkian attended one rally, saying the government is ready to listen even as tensions remain high nationwide amid international concern and continued calls for accountability.
