Speculation over Tej Pratap Yadav’s political future intensified on Tuesday after his high-profile presence at Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha’s Makar Sankranti dahi-chura feast in Patna. The event was attended by several senior political leaders, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who jointly inaugurated the programme. Tej Pratap, the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, emerged as the centre of attention, with Vijay Sinha extending a warm welcome to him.
Responding to questions about Tej Pratap’s possible entry into the BJP, Sinha spoke of working together with “positive energy” to take Bihar to greater heights, adding that clarity on future developments would soon be evident. His remarks were widely interpreted as a political signal.
Tej Pratap was earlier expelled from the RJD and distanced from the family following controversies. He later floated his own party but failed electorally, amid reports of strained ties with his brother Tejashwi Yadav. His growing outreach to NDA leaders has now further fueled defection speculation.
