Brief By Newsbrief / 2:40 PM on 03 Jan 2026

The proposed visit of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to Gopalganj was cancelled at the last minute on Saturday, citing unavoidable reasons. The decision came shortly before the programme was scheduled to begin, leaving the local administration scrambling after days of preparation.

As per the original itinerary, the Deputy CM was to travel by helicopter from Patna to Gopalganj. His visit was to begin with prayers at the revered Maa Thawe Bhavani Temple, followed by participation in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) convention at the district headquarters.

In anticipation of the high-profile visit, the district administration had made elaborate security and traffic arrangements. Police personnel and magistrates were deployed at the helipad, temple परिसर, convention venue, and adjoining areas. With the sudden cancellation, security forces were withdrawn, and arrangements were scaled back. Officials said further updates regarding a rescheduled visit would be shared in due course.
