The Jharkhand government has begun 2026 with a major relief initiative for women by releasing the December installment under the Maiya Samman Yojana in Ranchi. Under the scheme, a total of 3,91,578 women beneficiaries in Ranchi district received ₹2,500 each through Aadhaar-based Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), amounting to ₹97.89 crore.
The payment has provided crucial financial support to women across both rural and urban areas of the district while reinforcing the government’s commitment to women empowerment and self-reliance. By transferring funds directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, the scheme has ensured transparency and eliminated the role of intermediaries.
Block-wise data shows widespread coverage, with the highest number of beneficiaries in Kanke block at 31,676. In the Sadar urban area, 24,892 women received the benefit, followed by Mandar with 23,239 beneficiaries, Silli with 21,312, Bero with 20,696, and Chanho with 19,813 recipients.
Officials said the timely disbursal of the December installment reflects the state’s focus on efficient welfare delivery. Beneficiaries have welcomed the initiative, calling it a meaningful New Year gift that strengthens household financial stability.
