Russia Urges Dhaka to Ease Tensions With India, Cites 1971 War Role

Russia on Tuesday urged Bangladesh to ease tensions with India, recalling New Delhi’s decisive role in the 1971 war. Russian Ambassador Alexander Grigoryevich Khozin said Bangladesh achieved independence largely due to India’s support and stressed the need for mutual trust among neighbours. He added that reducing strain with Delhi would benefit regional stability and cooperation across South Asia and beyond.
