New Caller ID Rule From November 1: Names to Appear Alongside Numbers

Mobile users across India are set to see callers’ names alongside phone numbers from November 1 under the Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) system. According to the Department of Telecommunications, saved contact names will appear when available. For unsaved numbers, the caller’s name registered with the telecom operator will be displayed, helping users identify incoming calls more easily.
