Karnataka Cabinet Grants Tulu Second Additional Language Status

The Karnataka Cabinet has decided to recognise Tulu as the state’s second additional language, Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said. Primarily spoken in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, Tulu has long been a cultural demand. The government said recognition could support educational and cultural growth, while strengthening the language’s administrative presence across Karnataka.
