CJI Criticises Magistrate Over Notice to Noida Student

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant criticised an executive magistrate for issuing a notice to a 20-year-old Noida student after he allegedly participated in protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The student, studying at Gautam Buddha University, received the notice after protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party. The CJI said magistrates cannot use extraordinary powers to target students for participation.
