West Bengal Bans Liquor on Maha Ashtami, Restricts DJs During Durga Puja

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced a complete liquor ban on Maha Ashtami during Durga Puja, asking bars not to serve alcohol that day. The government also restricted DJs and loud music during immersion processions. The state cancelled the post-Puja carnival and announced free electricity for Puja committees. It also allocated ₹15 lakh for post-Puja cleanliness this year.
