CISF Officer Dies During Duty at Koderma Thermal Power Plant, Cardiac Arrest Suspected

A 58-year-old CISF Sub-Inspector died after his health suddenly deteriorated while he was on duty at the Koderma Thermal Power Station (KTPS) in Jayanagar police station area of Koderma district. The deceased officer, identified as Shyam Singh, was posted at the plant as part of the security arrangements.
According to the available information, Shyam Singh had reported for his regular night duty at KTPS on Monday. At around 1 am, he suddenly complained of chest pain and uneasiness. His colleagues noticed his deteriorating condition and immediately came to his assistance. As his condition became serious, the plant administration was informed.
The plant management promptly arranged an ambulance and shifted the CISF officer to Koderma Sadar Hospital. However, after conducting an initial examination, doctors declared him dead. Based on preliminary information from CISF officials and his colleagues, cardiac arrest is suspected to be the possible cause of death. The exact reason will be established only after the post-mortem examination and report.
Shyam Singh was originally from Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand. He had been transferred to Koderma Thermal Power Station around a year ago and was serving as a CISF Sub-Inspector. During his posting in Koderma, he reportedly lived alone in the CISF residential quarters, while his family continued to stay in Uttarakhand.
Sources said Singh was in the final phase of his service and was expected to retire in approximately two years. His sudden death during duty has left his colleagues deeply saddened.
The family has been informed about the incident. CISF authorities are completing the necessary departmental and legal formalities. Following the post-mortem examination, the officer is expected to receive a CISF ceremonial guard of honour before his mortal remains are transported to his native place in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.
The sudden demise of the CISF officer has cast a pall of gloom among his colleagues and personnel stationed at the power plant.
