Ramgarh Drug Bust: Brown Sugar Seized, Two Arrested with Cash and Car

Police have launched another crackdown on the illegal drug trade in Ramgarh district, arresting two youths from the Bhurkunda OP area. The action followed a tip-off received by the police regarding the alleged sale and purchase of narcotic substances in the locality. After verifying the information, a police team conducted an operation and detained the two suspects.
According to police, a total of 16.83 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the possession of the arrested accused. During the search, officers also seized a four-wheeler, two mobile phones and ₹14,300 in cash. Investigators are now trying to determine the source of the seized narcotic substance and identify the people to whom it was allegedly supposed to be supplied.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Akhil Ansari (30), a resident of Barkakana, and Deepak Bedia (30), a resident of Ghutwa. A case has been registered against both accused at Patratu (Bhurkunda) police station under Case No. 299/26.
Police have taken the seized brown sugar, vehicle, mobile phones and cash into custody as part of the investigation. Officials said surveillance against the illegal trafficking and sale of narcotic substances is being strengthened in the area. Further operations based on confidential information are also expected.
After completing the initial legal formalities, police produced the two accused before the appropriate authorities and sent them to judicial custody. The investigation is continuing to establish the wider network allegedly involved in the drug trade.
Police are also examining whether the arrested individuals were connected with other people involved in the supply and distribution of narcotics. The latest action has reportedly created concern among those allegedly involved in illegal drug activities in the area. Authorities have reiterated that strict action will continue against drug trafficking and related activities.
