Assaulted Doctor Alleges Brutal Attack, Says He Was Targeted for Being the Only Male

A doctor allegedly assaulted by Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre inside a hospital in Maharashtra's Thane claimed he became the “punching bag” because he was the only male doctor present. He alleged repeated blows to his face, head, chest and abdomen, resigned from his job afterward, and left the city over safety concerns.
