As Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled Union Budget 2026, several items are set to become cheaper, including 17 cancer medicines, EV batteries, solar panels, smartphones, sports goods, leather products and microwave ovens, following customs duty cuts. However, trading in stock options and futures will cost more after an increase in the Securities Transaction Tax, announced with immediate effect nationwide today.
