India Rejects China’s Shaksgam Valley Claim, Calls 1963 Pact Illegal

India has rejected China’s renewed claim over Shaksgam Valley, asserting the 1963 Pakistan-China agreement transferring the territory was illegal. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said India does not recognise any activities in the region. New Delhi maintains Pakistan had no authority to cede Indian territory and reiterated its sovereignty over the area amid rising diplomatic tensions.
