In a major push to improve pilgrimage travel, the Bihar Tourism Department has launched a luxury air-conditioned transport service between Patna and Rajgir ahead of the upcoming Malmas Mela. The initiative aims to offer devotees a smoother, safer and more comfortable travel experience during one of Bihar’s biggest religious gatherings.
Operated by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC), the service includes premium AC buses, SUVs and caravan vehicles equipped with modern amenities. Officials said tourists can select vehicles based on their travel needs and budget, ensuring greater convenience for pilgrims visiting Rajgir.
The tourism department believes the service will significantly reduce travel difficulties while boosting tourist footfall during the festival season. Authorities expect the improved transport infrastructure to strengthen Bihar’s religious tourism sector and provide visitors with a hassle-free journey, making Rajgir more accessible for pilgrims and travelers alike during the Malmas Mela period.
